        Fence, fortress, St. George's church, palace

        XI It is located on the banks of the river Suramula in the southern part of the town. The complex includes fence, castle, tower, palace and XI-XII cc. George Church. Like all the fortresses, this fortification had a secret tunnel that was about 12-16 m and connected to Suramula River. The Surami Fortress was included in the number of significant borders of the country and was referred to as "strong towers" for centuries.

                  According to Daniel Chonkadze's story "Surami Fortress", there are two fiction films. The first film was directed by Ivan Perestain in 1922. It should be noted that the film's painters were Evgeny Lanchere and Valerian Sidamon-Eristavi. Second, in 1984, Sergo Parajanov shot. Many famous Georgian actors including Veriko Anjaparidze, Sophiko Chiaureli, Dudukhana Tserodze and Leila Abashidze participated in this film. The film has received many prizes for film festivals.

                 The complex is located in Georgia, Shida Kartli, Khashuri region, in the southern part of Surami, on the rocky hill.

 Description


                A fence followed by relief. It has a harder shape because the builders have used all the places of claddy's cape. It is made of grass and hay stone. Several construction layers will be distinguished. The entrance is in the middle of the northern wall. Here are some of the climbs in the rock. In the upper part of this section of the fence is narrow skirts, the north-west is a deaf wall. The western part of the fence is destroyed, only 8 m in length and 2 m high wall with a palace built from the yard. In the east of the wall there is an inner prison wall, which is less damaged. The late construction layer (XVII c.) Is thin, in the eastern wall of one of the layers is located. The original wall walls of the prison are roughly distributed and distributed unevenly; Even the late-night walls are quite frequent, narrow and rounded and are located equally.

               B) Fortress (1200 sq. M.) Consists of two parts: the internal fort (citadel) and the lower yard. The inner fortress occupies the upper part of the mountain, and the lower courtyard of the mountain slopes. The inner castle plan is incorrect with many pages (52,4X29,3m). It consists of a fence and a pyramidal tower (21,2X12,7 m). Its territory is covered by ruins. Only two floors of the tower are preserved. Both floors have an entrance from the yard. In the thick walls of the II floor are narrow shelves. The building is finished with tall stone.

                C) St. George church is located in the south-eastern part of the lower courtyard. Built in XI-XII centuries. The church is a hall (5,9X6,1 m), built with tall stone. The entrance has two - west and north. The church is divided into two parts, both parts are equal. The southern part is the subsurface, the northern part - the rectangular. The halls are connected to each other with a thorough arch. Both sides are roofed with one cylinder cam that unites them into one big hall. Each hall has one window in the east and west. In the interior are damaged fragments of feudal age painting. The painting is characterized by small dimensions of images and graphs of performance. In color, there are reddish-bricks, dark blue, reddish-brown, gray-white and yellow colors. Fragments of the decor on the facade of the church are visible. Fragments of the relief keys of the arch have been preserved. The roof is double. A small (2X3 m) highway covered by a cameras built north of the church is located in the west of the entrance. On the top of the door, the window is cut.

                D) The palace was located in the western section of the lower courtyard. It is badly damaged: only two floors of ruins remain. The roof has a cameraman. In the eastern wall of the palace is the deep niches and fragments of the arch. Several construction layers will be distinguished.
On the western wall of the wall, where the palace was mentioned, fragments of the two parcels are observed.
